The inspiration for the colours of these experiments came from some mounts I had left over. I wanted to make something to mount in them. I liked the egg yolk yellow of the mounts. I wanted to make something quiet, something simple but which drew the eye in and explored the relationship between the five. I drew on inspiration from Agnes Martin and more about her later. Below: Simplicity one to five.
More colour love. Jean Dunand goldfish. This time also inspired by the subject matter.
I loved the colours in this sixties picture and tried to balance them in this experiment.
I was inspired for this experiment by a booklet cover posted by 20th Century Posters on Twitter.
